In September, we carried out a survey of brands to find out more about their experiences of 2020 and just how their practices and plans have been affected by the pandemic. 

Survey respondents came from individuals predominantly working in brands operating in international markets. Their roles were in the marketing, comms, brand and innovation departments of companies in sectors like retail, tech, FMCG, B2B and Automotive. 

Faced with abrupt, global changes in consumer behaviour, many brands have found the old rules no longer apply. People stopped commuting. Shoppers bought online, or bought less altogether. Social gatherings dwindled.
