Better Business: Growing and selling a business with Nicky Unsworth, previous CEO of The BJL Group, award-winning communications agency

What

The Drum Network Better Business sessions explore how to achieve consistent and sustainable growth for you, your clients, and your people.

Earlier this year Dentsu announced that it is to fold BJL, which it acquired in 2019, into DentsuMB UK. The move united over 120 UK employees under one roof as a ‘national creative agency’. After 25 years, veteran BJL chief executive Nicky Unsworth stepped down from the business. In this session she shares her story – leading the agency through boom times and recession, ensuring it stayed relevant and in tune with client needs to ensure the business thrived, and culminating in that final sale.

Why

Making that decision to sell doesn’t happen overnight and seeing the process through can take years. It’s a long, hard journey involving huge amounts of preparation and graft and getting the right advice and avoiding common pitfalls is critical. In this session, we’ll hear from someone who has not only lived it, but led it and has survived to tell the tale…

When

Wednesday, November 3 at 10-11am BST, Online.

Who

For CEOs, founders and agency leads of Network members.
